1 year of blogging

It has been fun... I really didn't know what to expect when I started.
I have met new people and become reacquainted with old friends.
People read from Mexico, California, Alaska, Illinois and Tennesse to name a few. I have been amazed with how many read about our fun family. I have kicked Cody off the couch I don't know how many times because he wants to proof as I write.
I think I might stick around a little longer or least until the kids stop being funny.
I will leave you with this one little story. I think this is what they mean by spring fever.
In one day Aidan: twisted his sister's hair up in a handheld fan
Ate a writing pen, I called Cody (oncall of course) to see what I needed to do. He said "Why would Joshua do that?" Not Joshua this time, his mouth was completely black, brushed teeth and rinsed mouth with mouth wash.
Next is the picture which is worth more than I can write about.
I think he is getting excited about being out of school. (I hope)

Joshua taking pictures

I was taking a picture of Maude's crazy hair this morning, when Joshua asked if he could take the photos. I told him to look through the box and push the silver button. I don't know if Nikon reads my blog but if they do he would be a great advertisment.(Nikon we own a D40 any extra lens you want to send our way would be great) He is only 5 and I think did a pretty good job. By the way the photo of me with my hair back was showing a little cut that I got trying to fix the internet. Also notice the necklace...Birthday gift from my sister, she made for me.

Handsome Boy

Joshua, "Mom, Do I look handsome? I tucked in my shirt so I would be handsome."

Some of you men won't see what is wrong with the picture.
Hawaiian shirt...pulled up white socks...roper slip boots...tucked in button down hawaiian shirt into shorts
It was even cuter when he had on the baseball helmet for an hour.
With all that said I told him...
Joshua you look very handsome and I am proud of you for getting the buttons right on the shirt.

Mother's Day

What every mother wants to hear...

Tonight Cody was gone with the boys, so Maude and I had dinner with my parents. We were sitting at the table and Granddad leaned over and kissed Maude. She quickly informed MiMi that her Granddad had kissed her but she didn't kiss him back. MiMi said Granddad are you stealing my kisses. Maude said "I didn't kiss him back." Then my mom asked the question and boy did she get an answer. I don't think any of us were prepared...
My Mom said "Do your mommy and daddy kiss?"
Maude in a smooshy gross face answered "Yeeeeesssssss, they hug and kiss hug and kiss hug and kiss hug and kiss all the time."
My dad turned a nice color of red and we all tried to keep the laughter under control. I don't know if this story is even funny without seeing the drama in her face and hearing her voice.
Here is to you Mom you asked the question and got the answer...Happy Mother's Day

funny stuff

This post isn't really about any one topic. It has been really kind of funny around here. I guess it is the great weather. Last night I heard the boys giggling and went to find them in bed. They were throwing the cat up on their beds. They were so interested how she was always landing on her feet. I got onto them and took the cat away. I don't know what is funnier, them or Cody's reaction. Cody was on call so when he called to check in I told him. He started laughing, he said "well...that is what boys do."

Then today on the way to Sonic for lunch, Maude and Joshua were discussing what they were going to eat. Popcorn chicken was what they decided on and then they started discussing popcorn chicken. Joshua's theory was that they put chickens in a popcorn machine, there you go. Never really thought about how they get popcorn chicken.

While we were at Sonic, Joshua decided to read all of the sat radio songs. It was a bit scary to hear him to rattle off all of the Nirvana and other songs he knew and could read. I am not a big music person so to hear a 5 year old know more than his mommy is a scary thing.

Then they asked me what a 'failure' was...
We are always trying to be positive with them that I could not think of a good way to describe failure to a 4 and 5 year old. All I could hear in my head was Cody...Cody tells Aidan if he fails at school then he will only be able to attend 'ut' and not be able to get into a real school. Sorry if I offended any of you 'ut' fans.

I just love that I am able to be a stay home mom or I would miss some of these great discussions.

Aidan

This morning...
Me: "Aidan, your machine pitch coach called last night you are on the White Sox team..."
Aidan eating breakfast, looking up seriously: "Mom I already have my white socks on!"

Guess he missed the first part of that sentence...boys...men...

Pictures finally

It has been a couple of years since I have had the kids pictures made. Today we finally got them done. I am in love with so many of them, I can't decide. The kids were all so good. Usually there is one that has an off day. Joshua did have a little cut left over from a split lip he had last Sunday that Cody had glued back together. But I finally decided someone is going to have something on them, missing teeth, or rash so go ahead and get them done. I am not going to bore you with all 253 but here are a few. Remember you can click on the pictures to make them bigger.
I forgot to add my sister took these pictures. Her and her husband have a photography business in Amarillo. T and J Memories
