Pictures

Had to post a new one, naked talk really gets to my sister. Here are some pictures of the kids. Some with 'new' bikes, going to Mavericks, going to American Girl, a woodpecker, rock band, and other random photos. I thing I can handle this Smilebox thing, so I might be able to post more pictures.

Aunt Judy

This one goes out to my Aunt Judy...
Today Maude was standing on my bed and told me to shake my JudyBeeBee. I had no idea what she meant...but she showed me. She said "Watch me shake my JudyBeeBee." Which in turn meant shaking your hinney. Big surprise there! She loves to shake her hinney but the name for it is new. The whole thing became funnier with me envisioning my Aunt Judy shaking her JudyBeeBee.
Onto the next random thing...
I spent 5 minutes last night waiting on Maude to get out of the bath, awkwardly watching the 5 1/2 year old play hopscotch with the tile in the bathroom...naked.

Shoes

If there was ever a time Cody will comment, today is that day.
Today I was telling Joshua to clean his closet his shoes were everywhere. I went back to my room to get ready. He came in to tell me he needed help, I told him I didn't make that mess. Then he opened my closet door and said "Who is going to help you clean up all of your shoes?" Busted! I guess I shouldn't ask him to clean his closet unless mine is clean.

Rock Star

We took the kids to Dallas for a Mavericks game on Thursday night. On the way home last night we heard the song 'We will we will Rock You.' The kids, Cody and I sang away, Maude was singing 'we will we will Walk you.' It was really cute to hear them all sing. A little later Joshua said, "You know what I want to be when I grow up? A Rock Star." I said that was fine as long as he was a Christian Rock Star and sang about God, Jesus and how good they make him feel. He said, "No, I want to be a mean one with mean tattoos up and down my arms and sing the word blood." (ok maybe rock band for Aidan was a bad idea for his birthday) I told him no that was not happening tattoos and mean words. Then Maude sang "We will, we will not like you" and then she said "Bubba you should sing We will we will worship you"

Sneaking out

Maude wanted to sneak Mema out of the hospital tonight. Sure is hard to see her in a hospital room when she is always so busy. Well, tomorrow she gets to walk out on her own and not have to sneak out with Maude. Maude was pretty sure we could just tip toe and nobody would notice. Mema is doing remarkable, thanks to all of the prayers. Everyday I see her she is getting more and more of her glow back. Please continue to pray for her strength to return. It sure is hard to stay down when you have been so active and busy.

St. Patrick's Day

Let's hope she wears a green shirt tomorrow and I remember to change her underwear. Or we will have what happened tonight...
The kids were getting ready for bed tonight and they all were making sure they had green on so in the morning they couldn't be pinched. Maude had on red and white striped pj's, the boys said "we are going to pinch you in the morning because you don't have green on." She dropped her pants and shook her hinny, there was her green! She had bright green Panties on and that was her green! She said," I am already for Patrick's Day." (That would be Patrick from Sponge Bob.) Wish us luck tomorrow!

7!

Aidan turns 7 today!
So here is a post about 7 things I love about Aidan and 7 things I have learned from him. On Joshua's Birthday I included his injuries but Aidan does not have 7 injuries.
7 things I love about Aidan
1. He loves God and Jesus and relies on Them.
2. His tender heart (he will cry when his siblings get hurt or trouble)
3. He likes everyone and makes friends with everyone.
4. His smile and with those eyes and eyelashes!
5. How he has been mischievous since he was a toddler.
6. How I don't have to worry about him, because I know he will make the right choice on most things.
7. He still holds my hand

7 things I have learned from Aidan
1. He not only looks like him but he is as smart as his Daddy
2. He tells me things and I always have to stop and think 'where did he learn that?'
3. That he is my first and I will make my parenting mistakes with him, and he will
be ok
4. That shyness is a great thing!
5. Everything should be fair and things can be thirded (3 kids)
6. If you say something with authority it will be right (Rock-o-mollie)
7. That Sour Cream can shoot 5 ft in the air and head 6 ft west in a solid stream.

Update

Mema was moved out of ICU and into her own room yesterday. I checked Aidan out of school and we went up to see her. She is doing much better and the kids were so happy to see she is ok. Aidan started having stomach pains Sunday come to find out they were worry pains. He has such a tender heart. We tried to explain to Maude in 3 year old terms what happened to Mema. She listened and when we were through she asked "Did Dandy break her heart?" I was glad to see yesterday that she wasn't mad at Dandy and sat in his lap for a brownie.
Mema and I talked as much as you can with 3 kids in a hospital room. One of the first things she said was "I hope I didn't say anything mean or not nice." That is the true Mema, she never would even under meds.
Cody took off last night after Aidan's open house and spent some time with her. Friday night was the last time he had seen her. When we got home Friday he went back on call all weekend. Which I think God took care of him, he probably had the easiest weekend ever, other than Friday morning.

Thank you for all of the prayers and please continue to pray for her recovery.

1 in a Million

We always knew Cody's Mema was 1 in a Million but she went and proved it yesterday.
You want proof God is Real, here you go...
Yesterday morning Cody left for work at 7:00am and I was home getting Aidan ready for school when the phone rang. It was Cody's Dandy and he was in a panic he said "Mema might be having a heart attack!" I asked if he had called 911, he said "no" then I replied with "I am hanging up and calling 911" I called 911 and then Cody. The ambulance arrived and wanted to care flight her to Amarillo but she insisted on going to Tulia to her grandson (first sign). They arrived in Tulia were Cody did a chest x-ray and then her blood pressure started dropping to 77/33. He saw evidence of a dissecting aorta (a fatal condition if not treated within hours)( second sign that he caught that). She was air lifted to Northwest for a ct scan and it was confirmed. They were in surgery within a few hours. The surgeon that was on call that day was one of the only surgeons that knew how to do this rare surgery otherwise she would have been flown to Houston (third sign). She made it through surgery fine (fourth sign) and is going to be in a long recovery period. I was able to hold her hand today and talk with her she is very proud of her grandson for saving her life so proud we had to change the subject from him and go onto lighter subjects. Mema has been my Mema now for about 15 years, I love her with all of my heart. She never has a bad word to say about anyone and always has a smile and a hug. I love my talks that I get to have with her and have always been thankful she has taken me in as her granddaughter she treats me like one of her own. Please continue to pray for her during this long recovery period.
Some stats on how rare this condition is
3:1 men to women
age 45-60 she is 74
1 in 100,000
2000 reported cases a year
Amarillo's doctors and staff came to see the ct scan and her because they will probably not see another case like this for another 3 years.

bikes

The story of the bikes...
Aidan at the end of summer found a bike at Target for $79. He started saving money. Every time we went to Target we had to make sure the bike was still there. His birthday is next week, so Cody and I had decided we would get the bike for his birthday a couple of months ago. So now for the story...About a month ago he went for a sleep over at a friends house. The boy had gotten 'Rockband' and they stayed up until 2:00am playing. Well, Guess what Aidan wants now for his birthday? Yep 'Rockband', Cody and I told him he had to pick between bike and Rockband (with all the family going into buy)He opted for Rockband and he would keep saving for the bike. Well, today we drove buy our local Second Time Around (love this store) and there sat a bike almost identical to the $79 bike at Target. We went home got the piggy bank and went back. Aidan checked it out and Joshua found one that looks like a dirt bike they were both $27 a piece. They both just had to have them. So we went in and asked if we bought both bikes could we get them cheaper (Gotta love Financial Peace University www.daveramsey.com/fpu/home/ ). She said she could give both bikes together for $45, yep that is right $22.50 a piece. So we went back to the car and counted quarter after quarter. Aidan had plenty and paid for his, Joshua had $12 and will work for the rest of his before riding. They are so proud! Maude came in the house and asked for her piggy bank and wanted to go buy herself a bike. She still thinks quarters are to put over your eyes and act like a pirate.

Now onto to story #2
A couple of years ago we were at my parents house for dinner or something, I can't remember. I just remember my mom had about 15 cans and was making soup, she needed to go take a shower and left my dad and I in charge of opening the cans and dumping them in. Easy enough we are adults they are cans...When she came back we had not been able to open one can. She had this Pampered Chef can opener and we couldn't figure the thing out, we twisted and twisted and twisted and twisted but it never opened. Since then I have purchased one of these things and love it, now that I know how to work it. Well, tonight I was cooking dinner and looked over and Joshua (the 5 year old) had opened the can of olives and asked if I wanted one. I was stunned, tell me how a 5 year old can figure out the can opener and my dad and I struggled? Ok don't answer that! (Tammy, Matt and Trey, y'all especially can't answer that question)

kids

I am glad I suggested tape when they asked for glue, otherwise these beautiful gifts would have been glued to our TV cabinet.

Is this a fair fight?
